Other artist appreciate my sketches but the most new audience prefer my newer stuff. As much I would like to know the

These are the pages I almost tore out, then didn't. The mistakes are part of the practice, not separate from it.

Drawing the people and places around you is the fastest way to build a daily habit, because the subject is always right there.

The point of filling a sketchbook is not the sketchbook — it is what your hand learns on the way to the last page.

I work fast through pages like these, chasing the feeling of a thing more than its accuracy.

These pages were never meant to be shown. They are the warm-ups, the margins, the things drawn while waiting for something else to happen.

Look at how the line quality shifts from one drawing to the next — that unevenness is the record of a hand still figuring itself out.
